This is 11-year old Anna Holmstrom. She goes to school in Ely but she and her family live in Babbit.

Her parents, Erik and Rebecca told us this was an extracurricular school assignment. She had to research local news stories, build a little news set and anchor the news.

After presenting her news stories, she closed with this.. “Kids like me cannot go to school, or play with our friends. It is not easy, but if we all stick together we can win this fight and life will get back to normal soon enough. This is Anna Holmstrom with the boundary waters area news. Back to you Darren.”

Anna says she wants to be a broadcast journalist some day. She also says, Baihly is her favorite local newscaster.
